Rainwater downpipes or eavestroughs fill an important role in drainage, as they bring rainwater from the gutter to the main sewage system. It’s important to have the right pipe diameter dimensions, so that backlog doesn't accumulate in the gutter during heavy rain. Rainwater should be diverted into the sewage system as quickly as possible. Because the risk of damage to the downpipe’s lower section is high, a standpipe should also be attached as a connecting piece between the downpipe and the sewage pipe.
