GRÖMO hopper – Installs quickly and securely.
The point is in the box.
A hopper prevents the water from overshooting the nozzle at the end of a long gutter. Hoppers are actually required at a gradient of more than 2%. They generally result in the pipes filling up more, and thus better discharge values than outlets. When used with external gutters, the gutter can be assessed like an inboard one. But because the work involved in calculation is quite high, they are usually just used for incoming valleys after a subjectively assessed calculation. Or simply for optical reasons, without any special hydraulic measurement. They should be selected at a size big enough to perform maintenance work without problems, even on the lower rainwater downpipe connector.
Depending on hopper selection, it may be attached on the pitched roof or flat roof, and installed on the gutter or on the wall
The hoppers are available in different designs: modern or classic, tapered in or out, high or low, rectangular or round, square or rectangular, centric or eccentric - the possibilities are practically endless.
Tight on the wall.
While common sealing options for attic penetration require high effort for installation, the new GRÖMO TPE seal is quick and easy to install thanks to the precisely delineated clamping area. Their reliable sealing function also prevents damage to the structure by back-flowing water of the Attika drain pipe and duch splash in heavy rain events. The GRÖMO TPE seal scores points with its flexible material properties. So the seal profile can be custom cut according to requirements, and used with materials between 0.5 and about 2.0 mm thick.
You can find a detailed description of assembly in the in-depth installation instructions here on our homepage.
The wet must go into the square.
The flat roof hopper shows what it can do. The new shape with reduced depth is deliberately different from the earlier hopper models. The inspection cover and large overflow ensure safe drainage on the roof. It serves as an overflow pipe for blocked downpipes and is not comparable to emergency overflows for flat roofs. This has to be planned separately according to flat roof guidelines and calculated as well as designed.
Special highlights are the pre-punched intake opening (NG 75/NG 100/NG110) and the pre-mounted seal. Where it previously had to be tediously cut and adjusted, the pipe can now easily be inserted through the prepared inflow opening and the rainwater hopper mounted directly on the wall. The flat roof hopper is available in material qualities zinc, copper, and galvanized steel, as well as an option without intake opening.
Caught in design.
The designer hopper’s modern and stylish shape is impressive. The upper edge no longer finishes in a bead, but with a soft fold. All connections are also glued and tox cold welded. The deep-drawn, two-piece outlet makes a real eye-catcher that drains water out of the hopper. This design incorporates the styling of current standards in architecture and provides first-class stability. All this together makes the hopper the perfect choice for buildings with modern designs, as well as for public office and administrative buildings, production facilities, and even for single homes and apartment buildings.
Pretty special.
Both sturdy and elegant: GRÖMO custom solutions not only work perfectly, but also look good doing it. No matter what material you choose, we focus on the aesthetic along with the engineering. And the result is impressive. This is no less apparent in our hoppers, created in the factory. They can be made using all five metals, and allow water to drain unhindered and quickly into the downpipes. They are available in different shapes: tapered in or out, high or low, rectangular or round, square or angular. Just send us your request, we’ll take care of the rest.
